Ohod Medina (SBL) landed experienced 35-year old Senegalese ex-international 213cm forward Ibrahima Thomas (college: Cincinnati), agency: BIG for new season. Thomas played most recently at Al Nasr in Libyan D1 league. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Honorable Mention. Thomas also played for Orthodox in Jordanian Premier League where in 21 games he averaged impressive 16.9ppg, 10.8rpg (#4 in the league), 3.2apg, 1.6spg and 2.0bpg last season. He contributed to his team making it to the Jordanian League final after they ended regular season as second best team. Thomas can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Asia-Basket.com All-Jordanian Premier League Domestic Blocker of the Year and League Player of the Week (5 times).
He also represented Senegal at the Afrobasket Championship in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) nine years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 7 games: 3.0ppg, 3.1rpg.
Thomas is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in ten different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, African and of course North American leagues. Thomas has played previously professionally in Bahrain, Iran (Azad), Japan (Saitama), Lebanon (Hoops), Qatar (Al Sadd), Spain (Caceres), Tunisia (ES Rades and US Ansar), Saudi Arabia (Al Hilal and Al Ittihad), Jordan (Al Wihdat) and Mali (AS Police).
He won Tunisian League championship title in 2018.
Thomas graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
